About Dr Otete

Dr Otete is a Certified Public Accountant with 30 years of experience in audit assurance, technology and business consulting.  He is a founding partner at J. Samuel Richards® & Associates, headquartered in Kampala, Uganda. 

He has worked with international firms like PwC, KPMG and Standard Bank. He has actively participated in the Committees of the Uganda accountancy regulator; among others, professional standards, research, education, finance and planning.

Dr Otete is a founding member of the insolvency practice association in Uganda. He has contributed educative articles in accountancy journals and magazines in Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda. He is an independent non-executive board member in a financial institution and a Government authority. Furthermore, he is an independent advisor on a couple of boards, particularly audit and risk.
