Joshua Samuel Karamagi is a Founding Partner at J. Samuel Richards® & Associates with more than 30 years’ experience in audit, assurance, financial advisory, and strategic leadership. His career spans senior roles in both the public and private sectors, including Chief Executive Officer of Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited, Chief Financial Officer of Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited, Finance Director at Makerere University, Assistant Commissioner in the Ministry of Finance, and founder of a public accounting practice.

Over his distinguished career, Joshua has led and completed high-profile assignments across diverse sectors, including energy infrastructure, government finance, academia, and development projects, as well as advisory work for international organizations and large corporate entities.

Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited
Chief Executive Officer

He was extensively involved in electricity transmission infrastructure development. He successfully lead the structuring, financing, negotiating PPAs and construction of multi-million-dollar projects.

Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited
Chief Financial Officer

He was pivotal in developing major USD2 billion hydro-power projects. He also chaired the investment committee of the company where he developed the investment policy. He participated in a PPP infrastructure project worth USD20 Million. Other key achievements include the construction of USD600 million 183MW Isimba hydro power project and the USD1.2 billion 600MW Karuma hydro power project.
