A study of 100 participants found that professional qualifications (ACCA, CPAU) and work experience significantly improve the quality of accountants in Uganda. While university education provides foundational knowledge, it alone is not enough for readiness after graduation. ICPAU plays a key role in maintaining standards, and most respondents trust the profession despite some ethical concerns. Internships and practical experience are essential for developing skills and professional competence.
